Do you have to tip in Italy?

To start off, tipping in Italy is neither obligatory nor anticipated, but if you choose to do so, the act is a clear sign that you valued the service given.Given that most of us are used to tipping, it is important to remember that the etiquette varies depending on the kind of service provided.

In fact, if you remember the following tips – yes, we said it – you will be perfectly prepared for your next Italian adventure!

How much to tip private tour guide in italy?

It is tricky to tip tour guides!Should you?Shouldn’t you? What’s the etiquette?Where do you stand? In Italy, a rough guideline is to take the duration of your tour into consideration. If the tour lasted no more than half a day, you may give the guide five to ten euros. If you spent more or less a day, a tip of 10 euros or so would be appreciated.

But keep in mind that your choice should be based only on the respect you had for your guide and the service that was provided and you should never feel obligated to tip.

Should I Tip the Guides in Italy?

I guess the more people would know what to do if we knew how much the salaries of different jobs. Is the tour guide getting a great pay?Who knows? I’ve heard that waiters in Italy earn a decent wage, so we don’t tip. The tour guides we have had are so enthusiastic and have made our trip more colorful. Had I known that they were earning a good salary, we wouldn’t.

As we do not know, we err on the side of the more generous just in case. I can inform you from the tours we took, that around 30% – 40% left some kind of tip.. We left 20%. I thought it was too much, but DH is a good tipper. I would have rounded up by 10 – 15% and been okay.

Am I supposed to tip my guide?

It’s your choice. If you had a great tour and the guide provided excellent service, it is usual to give them a tip at the end of the tour. It’s not mandatory though and we wouldn’t blame you if you don’t – nor your guide.

Do you tip your guides?

If you found your guide pleasant and would like to give a tip, it will be appreciated. When inquired, the office staff suggests any amount you are comfortable with giving.

Hence, there is a recurring theme on here that you do not tip your tour guide, whereas, the tour companies in Italy imply the opposite. No doubt many wannabe travelers are lost in confusion.

What are the rules for tipping in Italy?

Do not tip unless they do something that was not on the itinerary or otherwise take up extra time and then I would tip for the extra time what I felt was appropriate.

For instance I hired a private driver to pick us up from the Pisa Airport and drive to a hotel in Florence.
The ride is itself was priced at a rate, I think it was 140 euro and I would not tip on that ride.

I requested that they make a brief stop at the leaning tower on the way and give us 30 minutes for a walk, photos. ea… ; for this additional service I gave a tip of 30 euro and the driver was very satisfied with that.
Since this is additional, it is rather of paying for extra than tipping, and I would suggest you to see it that way.

In some cases, the absence of tipping or overpaying can get a little strange for instance I have come across a few instances where things that are normal in the US and are included in the price are not included in Italy. Could be something as simple as an extra cup, or extra napkin and you can be treated rather harshly if you expect it to be included ; but offer a small coin and you can gladly have them. So again I repeat no problems in paying more for more, that seems typical and natural.

I have received some criticism for average tipping. The fact is – and you will find this out – many are eastern European driver and servers. They are not drinking it. Not 15% tip but on a full day car hire I would expect 5 to 10 euro per person would be appreciated. You are with the man day, and if he happens to be indifferent and detached – nothing, useful and friendly, well 5 each. Over the top and accommodating and informative, well at 10 per person sounds fair.

Waiters and servers, we would leave 15 or 20 euro to the excellent server for a meal of three over an hour and a half. In Rome and Florence type places you may pass the little place a few times and they always remember and wave and it makes for quick restroom stops, questions and interaction with locals even if you are not dining.

If you happen to eat at 4Leoni in Florence for dinner (make reservations) you will have a great meal. I believe our damage was 140(?) euro of greatness (gluttony really) with the 2.5kg Florentine steak, another steak for wife, multiple sides, lot of wine, sodas desert for 3. We left 15 or 20 euro. You don’t have to give a single cent. But that’s the case in the USA too. A great meal – great setting.

In contrast Gusta Pizza in Florence. If you don’t find it and eat there – well you just miss out – don’t miss out. The line isn’t very threatening – it’s fast, and many people take their pizzas to go.Its great. Just flow be a local. The counter is host to a large glass tip jar by the pizza makers. Order your pies (kinda single and a half size) and drinks, get your number, wait for a table and throw a few Euros in the jar.Nothing goes unnoticed. On your next visit you will be recognized, seated immediately.Just sayin…

Some people think that “Italy is not a tipping culture” and that if I tipped “it would spoil it for both Italians and future travelers”. To that I say that if someone is working, the person and an outstanding service tip would be appreciated as a gesture of my gratitude. I have visited Italy 6 or 7 times in the last 20 years and never had a tip refused, or had anyone behave as if it was unusual. They were appreciative. Recently we have been to Amalfi Coast, Pompeii & Herculaneum, Florence, Greve in Chianti and Bologna. I bribed three separate private drivers and a guide. They were all great, nice, and rendered a service that we appreciated. In Italy, let it upset those who do not tip. Like I said, I let my conscience be my guide in this matter.

Tipping should be avoided since it pushes the price up for everyone else, you pay for a level of service that was part of the job before, it is easier for tax cheaters and those who pay staff under the table and it creates a double standard that drives dishonest businessmen into the sector and the honest ones out.

If you worry about the hourly wages of the Italians because you believe that they are low from your point of view, it is going to lead to even lower wages. Guido’s and Marco’s boss: “All right, I am not going to pay for your national health care taxes and social security contributions, guys, but you will be able to keep the tips from the foreign customers and someone will pay for your health care and retirement anyway”.

We usually tell ourselves that if the guide is an entrepreneur, we do not tip. If the guide is an employee of a tour company, we tip if satisfied with the service. Therefore, if we employ Guido the driver who drives his own car and keeps the cash, there is no tip. On a tour organized by a company, we give a small tip, from €5 to €10 per person, to the guide/employee, depending on the duration and our satisfaction. IMO many of the guides working there are living on quite low wages. The cost of a guided tour of the Colosseo is €89 per person.

Tipping in Italy: Do’s, Dont’s.

In Italy, gratuity is a symbol of gratitude and, therefore, not obligatory or anticipated. Here is the general idea of tipping behavior for my American compatriots and Italy newbies.

✅ Tipping in restaurants is service based. You can leave nothing or up to 10% of the meal.

✅ If Servicio Incluso is already included, there is no need to add an extra tip. This is unlike the coperto which is not the same as tip (I’ll clarify later).

✔ In Italy, tipping is paid in cash, so do carry some euros!

Personal Embarrassing Story: In Sicily, I once attempted to tip 25% for the meal that I adored, just as I do in Austin. This implied leaving €25 on the table. My Italian friend took it, returned to me €15, and left a ridiculous tip of only €10. He said, “In Italy, we pay our wait staff well. Do as the Italians do, not the American tourists!”

Forget the stories, but a proper tip is expected for the taxi, tour guide, restaurants, bar, and hotel staff. By and large, tipping in Italy is neither encouraged nor obligatory, save for when the service is above the average, in which case a few Euros is the best way to show your appreciation.

Do you give tips in hotels in Italy?

The bill has already included a service charge of 15% to 19%.

Furthermore, it’s usual to give a housekeeper a €1 a day, a doorman €1 (for calling a taxi), and a bellhop or porter €2 to €3, if he or she carries your bags to the room.

A concierge anticipates an extra 15%, as well as tips for other services rendered, such as assistance with long-distance calls.

But bear this in mind: In luxury hotels, these amounts may be doubled in euros.

The delivery of room service does not need to be tipped, but a few euros would be appreciated.

Do you tip in restaurants and cafés in Italy?

In restaurants and cafes, a 15% service charge for staff is usually included on your bill. If you are not certain, the question to ask is, “È incluso il servizio?” (ay een-cloo-soh eel sair-vee-tsoh?). Or check for the words servizio incluso on the receipt, which means that the service charge has already been added.

The additional tip is not obligatory, but it is better to leave about 2 euros more if you have been satisfied with the service. Usually, people just leave the change from the bill.

Do you give tips for coffees or drinks in Italy?

If you are just having a quick espresso at a stand-up counter, there is no tip expected, but most people just round up the bill to the nearest euro and leave the change.

Bartenders do not expect to be tipped in Italy, but if you are served at your table a few euros would be appreciated. Like in coffee bars, some people round off to the nearest euro and leave the change as a tip.

Are there tips for taxi drivers in Italy?

The standard tip for taxi drivers is 15%, but rounding up a few euros is also customary. Such as if the fare amounts to €12, you might give the driver €15.

With epic coastlines, lush jungles, and towering volcanoes, Central America is an adventure playground waiting to be explored, but if you’re more into chilling out than thrilling out – soak up the region’s laid-back Caribbean beach vibes or brush up on your salsa dancing in the colonial cities. If we were to list every reason you should visit, we’d be here all day! So here’s seven reasons why you should add Central America to your bucket list:

1. WHALE SHARKS – MEXICO

WHALE SHARKS – MEXICO
WHALE SHARKS – MEXICO

The Whale Shark is an epic beast, measuring up to 66 feet long, and swimming alongside these gentle giants is an ultimate ‘do before you die’ experience. There are only a few destinations left on the planet where you can still spot them… and Mexico is one of them! Take a 25-minute boat ride south of Cancun to Isla Holbox for the best diving spots. We’d recommend visiting the island between June and September when the whale sharks arrive to feed, and it could be you in that picture!

2.SANTA FE TULUM – MEXICO

SANTA FE TULUM – MEXICO
SANTA FE TULUM – MEXICO

Be sure to visit Santa Fe beach just 10 minutes south of the Tulum ruins for rustic, bohemian beach-camping. It’s crowd-free, unspoiled, and downright beautiful! The beach is pretty basic; there’s a snack bar serving refreshing coconut cocktails and a few boatmen offering snorkeling tours along the coral reef. We don’t think you need much more; it’s minimalism.

3. TURTLES – MEXICO

TURTLES – MEXICO

The little beach town of Akumal in Mexico is one of the most incredible spots for snorkeling with turtles, and it’s completely free! All you need to do is swim short from the shore, and you’ll find yourself floating amongst beautiful sea turtles—no need to hire a boat or pay for a guide. Akumal Bay’s ocean floor is covered with sea grass, which the turtles LOVE. So they spend hours every day munching on it. Trust us, they’ll hang around for ages grazing – they’re pretty chilled, so you can get up close and personal with these beauties!

4. THE LAZY LIZARD – BELIZE

THE LAZY LIZARD – BELIZE
THE LAZY LIZARD – BELIZE

The Lazy Lizard is a beach bar and grill at the split on Caye Caulker, a picturesque island off Belize. Spend the day snorkeling and fishing in Belize’s turquoise waters, then head back to the bar and watch the sun go down with a bucket full of Belkin beer. The Lazy Lizard is all about good times, Caribbean vibes, and tasty cocktails – try the infamous “Lizard drink,” which is delicious but seriously lethal. Not that we’re speaking from experience!

5. RIO DULCE HOT SPRINGS – GUATEMALA

RIO DULCE HOT SPRINGS – GUATEMALA
RIO DULCE HOT SPRINGS – GUATEMALA

A hot waterfall? Yeah, it’s a thing. At first glance, you’ll think it’s just like any other waterfall, but look closer and see the steam rising from the water beneath the falls. Swim closer to the falls, and you’ll feel the heat radiating from the cascades. The water is boiling, so don’t try to be seductive under the falls. The best time to visit is before noon to miss when the local tourists arrive; you’ll avoid the crowds and have this natural jacuzzi all to yourself.

6.LAKE ATITLAN – GUATEMALA

LAKE ATITLAN – GUATEMALA
LAKE ATITLAN – GUATEMALA

It’s the deepest lake in Central America, and as soon as you arrive, you’ll never want to leave. Just look at it; it’s gorgeous! It gives Central American sunsets a whole new meaning. Take your pick from one of the three towering volcanoes surrounding the lake and hike to the top for mesmerizing views. The Mayan villages’ lakeside are a hub of hippies, backpackers, and travelers. Panajachel is the most popular backpacker village; you can spend the day kayaking, exploring local markets, or simply bar-hopping. Mayan pub crawl, anyone?

7.ANTIGUA – GUATEMALA

ANTIGUA – GUATEMALA

If you’re heading to a city in Guatemala, make it Antigua. It has a colonial history, beautiful architecture, and a buzzing bar scene. If you had to pick a few architectural gems, check out Las Capuchinas, San Francisco, Santo Domingo, and La Merced. When you’re done looking at buildings, head to “Las Vibras de la Casbah” for a night of drinking and fantastic salsa dancing. If you’re feeling particularly up for it, try Reilly’s Irish Tavern; that place goes off! But then again, you are in Antigua, so promise us you won’t spend every night in an Irish bar. Enjoy!

Getting around Santorini is easy. It is a small island with ample choices. Because of the small geographical area, distances are short, and times to various destinations are brief. During the tourist season, a comprehensive bus network operates with regular service and low fares. Taxis are plentiful and affordable.

You can hire a motorbike or car for ultimate flexibility, but parking in July and August is not usually very easy. There are a few public boats on the surrounding islands or a cheap ride on a small ship (cache) to cruise scenically along the shore between beaches. Even the main town of Fira has a cable car.

Santorini has a comprehensive bus network
Santorini has a comprehensive bus network.

Bus

Santorini has a comprehensive bus network. Run by a national collective, the services run all day, and you can reach most of the island’s more essential places (including the airport) for less than about € 2 (KTEL charges vary slightly according to the trip’s distance). Service is also quite frequent; for example, from the main town of Fira to the beachside, Kamari buses run every 30 minutes all day until late at night. Travel times are short.

Strangely, for an island where travel times are counted in minutes, the buses most well-humoredly resemble those on long-distance coach services with narrow entry doors. But this adds to the crush of riders in summer when demand often exceeds supply, and you’ve got to stand around a while before getting your shot.

Several buses wait in Athinios to meet all ferries, but service down to the port is intermittent, so you must enquire about schedules before your boat.

Car

It’s easy to rent a car in Santorini; you can get one from any significant manufacturer or a dozen local vendors. Make sure you arrange in advance, or be prepared to haggle a bit upon arrival.

Cars can be complex to get in summer when the summer heat makes rents shoot up accordingly. Perhaps it’s best to have your accommodation arrange a vehicle for you.

Although you obtain absolute freedom by renting a car, there are also disadvantages to driving on Santorini in the summer. Drives along the island’s short road network are often hair-raising because of narrow lanes, sheer cliffside drops, and constant peak season traffic. Parking is also an issue. You risk getting socked with hefty fines if you park inappropriately at Fira or one of the beaches.

One way is to lease a car for only one or two days of sightseeing and avoid trouble next time.

Renting a motorbike or scooter is very convenient in Santorini

Motorbike

To make the steep climb back up to Fira again after a lazy day at the beach is enough. How about renting a motorbike? It is a lot better than whizzing around Santorini by car. Why? Where are you going to park? The roads are too narrow anyway. Renting a motorbike or scooter is very convenient. The only requirement for non-EU residents renting a bike in Italy is to have a valid license from their home country (motorcycle or motorbike).

Bike

In addition, Santorini’s steep, twisting roads and narrow lanes with countless blind turns make riding a bike nightmarish. Throw drivers out of their minds to make up for time stalled in traffic, and all kinds of problems increase. You can still rent a bike from various sources on the island. Inquire about e-bikes, which will become increasingly prevalent on the island, so long as your training regimen for the Tour de France doesn’t include too many of those hills.

Taxis are plentiful in Santorini
Taxis are plentiful in Santorini.

Taxi

Taxis are plentiful in Santorini. They are waiting for you at the airport, the ferry port and a taxi stand near the main bus stop in Fira; fares are reasonable. Athletics From the port in Athinios to the spread of accommodation around Fira, it costs 10-15 euros. Luggage should be slightly higher. The vast majority of places to stay will deliver you at the ferry port and pick you up for about 10 euros.

It is easy to catch a taxi or use the Uber app. If going off in a taxi to spend the day at a beach, one can also request that the driver pick you up later.

Boat

Small fishing boats make the short journey to this pretty little island, located across from the small waterfront village of Ammoudi at the far northern Tip of the main island. The fare is €5 ($6). Service is not as frequent, and schedules must be checked at the main port of Athinios.

The excursion boats will bring you to the barren volcanic islets in the heart of the caldera and might also make a call at Thirasia along the way. These trips cost about € 30 (about $ 35) and are widely advertised around Santorini. Other alternatives are trips to the beaches for a picnic or other day trips, which can serve quite well as an escape from crowds and traffic winding along busy roads across the hills.

The busier beaches also offer small boats (caïques), which can take visitors to smaller and inaccessible areas for a nominal charge.

Walking

It’s more an excuse to walk on Santorini than a bona fide way of getting around. Steep hillsides and a shortage of footpaths are only part of the problem. For instance, the path from the cruise ship docks at Fira Skala to Fira has over 600 steps. Walks between famous beaches, such as those around Perissa, are a notable exception.

The most popular route, strictly speaking, is more of an outing than a convenient journey, the 10km (6 miles) road from Fira to Oia.

How to get from Santorini Airport to your hotel?

Of course, the hotels provide a pick-up service, and if you are staying in Thira, it should cost 20 to 30 EUR. But if the hotel is asking you more than this, they are ripping you off.
But you needn’t cancel your transfer; it will only take a taxi to the airport. All taxi fares are fixed, as I said before. You have to look at the price. That’s it.

Otherwise, you can take an Uber from the Santorini airport to your hotel or pick up your rental car at the airport.

Parking in Santorini

In Fira and Oia, the traffic and cars are heavy, making parking difficult. Do your best to use the accommodation spaces provided at night.

Yet parking is easy, with ample free space around Santorini’s main towns and villages. Sometimes, it’s packed, of course, but you usually can find a place to muscle in. You can also park on the street if you don’t obstruct the road.

Navigating around Santorini

The only way to get around Santorini is with Google Maps and your phone’s GPS. So, my number-one Tip is to get an eSim before driving in Santorini. In other words, you can cruise around the island using 4G or 5G and never worry about getting lost or on the wrong route.

For the safety of those traveling alone, you can even use the eSIM to call or text Santorini.

You can download the ESIMs right now and be ready to use them in just a few minutes! In addition, some eSIMs cover all of Europe. You are no longer looking for free Wifi where you can get it!

How should you go about traveling around Santorini

Hiring a car is the best way to see Santorini. Taxis and buses can be found throughout the island; however, taxis are very costly, while local buses may require a little extra time to get you where you need to go. But all the buses are clean and modern, and extremely inexpensive.

Don’t have a car? This is the company that rents us cars all over Europe. They’re dependable, economical, and have car rental anywhere! Now, take a look at car hire prices in Santorini.

Does Uber operate in Santorini?

Uber has recently arrived in Santorini, too.

What does driving around Santorini feel like?

The same is true in Santorini, where the driver sits on the left (as opposed to the UK). This requires a slight adjustment but is not too hard because it’s easy once you have gone driving for a while.

The roads are sometimes relatively narrow, windy, and always going uphill, but you get accustomed to that, too. Also, Greek driving is somewhat chaotic here too. Just be prepared!

Most of the roads were in reasonably good condition, although a few potholes had to be negotiated on some of the more minor village roads. Fuel is costly, but the island is small, so you won’t have to fill up that often.

After all, riding an ATV is one of the best ways to get around Santorini, so be alert for those quads that appear from nowhere.

Broken strollers, paying extra to sit with kids: Why family travel is not so simple in the air.

Allie Olson will fly for the first time with two young children in September. She is already nervous about the two flights it will require from Tennessee to California, even though there are still over a month before the trip. “I get stressed up only very, and I am uncomfortable with this.”
Her stress is warranted. Practically nothing about flying is organized to accommodate families. Experts weigh in on moms’ and dads’ top issues and then reveal how to fix them.

Cost

Allyson Matthews’s twins turned 2 last year in November, doubling whatwo it cost her for her family of four to travel; 2 and up kids require paid tickets. She was grateful to have the extra seats, instead of having two babies and without any seat on her lap, but now all costs were almost prohibitive.

The Family Travel Association’s annual survey regularly notes the affordability of travel as the leading challenge cited by respondents. Kenneth Shapiro, president of the Family Travel Association, says that trip budgeting is still challenging due to increased costs.

But the bottom line is that it has always been so expensive to fly, and one of the reasons Jo Kaur and her husband didn’t take their kids on any flights (they are 3 years old and nine months old). Her three Riaan are suffering from a fatal neurodegenerative disease referred to as Cockayne Syndrome, and she decides to move out of work to stay home with him, resulting in them becoming a one-income family. It is too expensive to book airfare and get travel necessities for two young children, let alone one with a medical disease.

Families’ good news is that while it may not feel like it at booking, the average flight pricing trend is down. As stated in the Bureau of Labor Statistics federal inflation report for June, airfare dropped by 8% from May to June and has declined by 19% in the past year.

However, as ticket prices drop, “[a]irlines are figuring out how to get families there on the cheap,” shares Rob Taylor, founder and lead writer for 2TravelDads.com, the original LGBT family travel blog with Yahoo Life.

Flying can be expensive, with checked bag fees and upcharges on main cabin seating that can quickly add up. “We pay instead of fees, credit card fees to get upgrades and free baggage covered by an annual fee,” Taylor says. Nonetheless, this year has seen rising family travel costs even for rewards and loyalties like Taylor. For instance, his credit card annual fee previously included a lounge entrance for three, and he has been taking his kids up to February.

Given that the travel is most of the time as a family, this provision was pivotal to offset the cost of buying overpriced food and drinks during layovers. These days, the cost of entry to the lounge per child is $30; this further excludes instances where an individual needs to reach a minimum card spend that is highly unreasonable. “That seems almost like a move against families.”

Security lines

About Vedica, Kant was pleasantly surprised to see a separate immigration line for families with kids under five while traveling through the Istanbul airport this summer. “It let us get through Immigration fast and took away the stress of having a cranky baby for hours and irritating bunches of other travelers — seemed like a no-brainer,” Kant tells Yahoo Life.

The only thing closest in the United States is to pay extra for TSA PreCheck or CLEAR, which Taylor recommends highly for family travel – sadly. According to Matthews, who used it for the first time on her trip a few weeks ago, the cost has proven worth it. “Within 5 minutes, we were in and out. “Those kids could go through three times a day and think it was fun,” she said for Today. CLEAR = $189/year + $70/person (Children 18 & under are free), and TSA PreCheck = $78 for five years (Children 17 & under are free).

Seating and boarding

One of the most stressful aspects of flying – where to sit – is about to improve, hopefully for many parents. In July, the U.S. Department of Transportation issued a notice that guaranteed small children should sit next to their parents without extra payments.

Yet, this will hardly reduce anxiety among families traveling via airlines that do not assign seats. Mathews states, “I require three seats for myself and the two kids; [it’s] a stressor because you’re competing with other families.” Parents are usually stranded with their traveling compatriots without seats assigned together. The latest seat swap incident popped up after a woman shared on social media some moments ago, highlighting an instance when she declined to swap her seat to allow a mother to sit next to her two children.

It would help guarantee the seats so families can shift and get more flexible in boarding. Samantha Brown, the host of PBS’s Samantha Brown’s Places to Love, an Emmy-winning show and a travel expert with 10-year-old twins, attests that instead of allowing Brown’s husband to board early with all the gear as most airlines do with passengers traveling with young kids, and letting the kids run around in the gate area till last person in the very previous zone boarded. It reduces time spent in the plane but does not work for solo passengers or parents on airlines without assigned seats.

Strollers

Hannah McDowell has lost a stroller almost every time she’s traveled by air. In one instance, her stroller frame was entirely broken. Fortunately, she managed to get reimbursed; however, the process was complicated, and she had to be very active because she filed a claim within 24-hour intervals. However, some airlines she has traveled withhave declined to take responsibility forr any damages.

Taylor also urges all stroller-flying parents to purchase this bag. He tells Yahoo Life, “Everyone I’ve ever spoken with who has had a stroller broken, hasn’t had a stroller bag or hasn’t provided their stroller fully packed for travel, so it won’t open up as it’s being moved.”

Baby-feeding challenges

However, even though the 2016 Bottles and Breastfeeding Equipment Screening (BABES) Act sought to make it easier for parents to pass through airport security with their breast milk and other feeding gear intact, many moms—like Keke Palmer—are still being threatened to have such milk, formulae, and ice packs downed. (Also, as Olivia Munn discovered last year when her packed baby son’s container spilled, formula in checked luggage can be a mess- during our recent fiasco.)

Such challenges are only higher when one is flying without kids. Emily Calandrelli, an Emmy-nominated science TV host and mom of two, tells Yahoo Life, “If you are breastfeeding and traveling without kids . . . all of the sudden people in TSA are very confused as to why you need to continue the act of pumping if the child isn’t there One of them was humiliated when they refused TSA agents just let me go with already molten freezer packs that I needed for milk preservation when I pumped in the airport.” This particular post of Calandrelli went viral when she tweeted about her experience, and the response from other women who had gone through similar things came pouring in.

Subsequently, Calandrelli was later involved with Rep. Katie Porter (D-CA) to strengthen the BABES Act. The BABES Enhancement Act bill, introduced last summer, is meant to guarantee safe travel for parents. In her words, Calandrelli also advises women to have the TSA policy on their phones already accessed before going through the security check based on her experience. She says, “being educated about your rights in that situation can protect you from problems.”

Staying calm in the sky

Addressing these system-wide concerns could be very time-consuming, complicated, and expensive. However, there’s one tip that both travel experts Brown and Taylor recommend: snacks.

“Snacks solve most problems – that’s something we learned from an early age with our kids, having easy snacks on the go, saves money and time and makes it so you can de-fuse a lot of stressful kid situations,” Taylor tells Yahoo Life.

Brown gives similar advice and tells parents to feed themselves as well. “Keep a snack for yourself all the time ‘coz every one of my meltdowns was actually based on the fact that I was literally hungry and couldn’t do another 20 minutes without yelling.”

The United States is a country that has alone given to us writing greats such as Mark Twain and Stephen King, documentaries such as Oscar-winning Mel Gibson, and the most significant Hollywood directors like Steven Spielberg and James Cameron, besides a caped superheroine known as Superman and the saviors in Wonder Woman, Transformers. I once thought of moving to New York City (NYC) for work as early as my mid-twenties. What touched the American chord in me? As I look back,

I can certainly blame it on my undiluted consumption of all things American. My first brushes with foreign culture were probably made through Disney cartoons, fast-food imports KFC and McDonalds, music industry stars Michael Jackson and Madonna, and later on, such classic movies as When Harry Met Sally that gave rise to fabulous musicals bound up with that fantastic country. I, too, have spent hours of my early twenties binging on seasons of Sex and The City and Gossip Girl, becoming inspired by their wardrobes.

As with so many wide-eyed immigrants and tourists, NYC possesses an appeal that continues to compete well against other large cities. I had a chance to live my American dream during my first trip to New York City just a few months before the 2020 world pandemic hit. However, a trip to NYC demands deep pockets, especially with our Karaputi. New York City travel tip 3: Buy your attraction tickets online ahead of time

In an immigrant city, you will always be approached by foreign touts and hawkers waving “official representative” badges near scenic spots and begin selling you tickets at lower prices or assist you in jumping the queue. Even if they offer you silly cheap tickets, ignore them. Remember this: If a promise sounds too good to be true, it usually is. For the booking information, refer to Go City’s reservations page and the individual attraction pages on their website and app.

You cannot say you have been to NYC if you have not visited places like the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, the Statue of Liberty, and Ellis Island Ferry, among others. Some attractions remain popular for a reason and may involve long wait times: Reservations are not required for Top of the Rock Observation Deck, One World Observatory, Best of NYC Cruise by Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises, or Liberty Super Express Cruise. Stay clear of the school holidays or public holidays.

Obey the traffic signals and watch out for cars, skateboarders, and bikers. However, it helps to plan your path before leaving—and follow it. New York City travel tip 6: Get In Good Physical Shape Ahead Of Trip

During my trip in 2019, I have fondest memories of visiting The Vessel at Hudson Yards, which opened only two months before my visit in May 2019 and cost a staggering US$200m to build. Housing 154 interconnecting sets of stairs that span for over 150 feet, the Hudson Yard vessel is Manhattan’s new skyscraper centerpiece that captures the City’s industrial past and is erected on a piece of land whose valuations are considered to be among the most expensive on US history. Of course, you can take the elevators if you cannot climb the staircases, but why lose a fantastic industrial view and fresh wind on your face?

Are you looking for guidance on proper tipping etiquette? Do you want to ensure that your driver feels appreciated and respected? Then this article is just what you need! Here we’ll discuss all the essential details about how much to tip shuttle drivers in various scenarios. You’ll learn what kind of impact each gratuity amount has and why it’s important to follow these guidelines.

Finally readers will also get valuable insight into which situations require special considerations when determining exactly how much they’d like to give their driver as a token of gratitude. So if you’re ready to dive deep into the world of tips and shuttles then let’s go!

Overview Of Tipping Etiquette

Tipping etiquette can be confusing – when is it appropriate to tip and how much should you give? It’s a common question especially if you are unfamiliar with the culture of tipping. Fortunately there are some general guidelines one can follow that make deciding whether or not to leave a gratuity easier.

The first step in determining whether or not to tip is understanding who traditionally receives tips. Generally speaking those involved in providing services where quality varies greatly – such as hospitality staff taxi drivers tour guides shuttle drivers and beauticians – receive tips for their work. Tipping also serves as an extra thank-you offering from people who have had exceptional service provided to them.

In addition to knowing which types of employees usually receive tips it’s important to consider the amount that typically expected. This can range anywhere from 10%-20% of a bill depending on the type of service offered and geographical location; however most often 15% is considered customary for good service. With this information in mind let’s move onto what factors should be taken into account before tipping a shuttle driver…

Factors To Consider For A Shuttle Driver

When it comes to tipping a shuttle driver there are several factors that should be taken into account. According to a survey conducted by the travel website Expedia 58% of Americans feel that they should tip drivers for their services when taking a ride in an airport shuttle.

The quality of service provided is perhaps one of the most important things to consider before leaving a gratuity. If you experienced friendly and efficient service from your driver then it may be appropriate to leave them with something extra as a way of saying thank you for their help. Additionally if your driver went out of their way to make sure your journey was comfortable or helped you deal with any issues relating to traffic delays these would also be good reasons for offering a tip.

On the other hand if the driver was rude or unhelpful during your trip then it’s entirely up to you whether or not you wish to reward them financially; however giving them nothing at all can serve as an effective form of communication regarding poor service standards.

Now let’s take a look at what kind of average tip amounts people usually give shuttle drivers…

Average Tip Amounts

When it comes to tipping a shuttle driver there are no hard and fast rules as to how much you should give. Generally speaking the average tip for a shuttle driver is between 10-20% of your total fare depending on various factors such as quality of service distance travelled etc.

For example if your ride was $20 then you would usually round up to $25 and leave that amount with the driver. Since tips are typically seen by drivers as an important part of their income they tend to be very grateful when they receive one; so don’t forget to express your appreciation before leaving!

TIP: If you’d like to show extra gratitude consider bringing along some small snacks or beverages for the driver during your trip. This can make all the difference in terms of creating a pleasant travel experience for everyone involved.

Of course while offering a gratuity is always appreciated it’s not necessary or required if you’re not able to do so. Ultimately it’s up to each individual traveler to decide what kind of tip (if any) they feel comfortable giving.

How To Leave The Tip

How To Leave The Tip

Now that you know how much to tip your shuttle driver let’s discuss the best way to leave the gratuity. After all it’s not always easy figuring out how and when a tip should be given.

One of the most common ways is to simply hand cash directly to the driver after your ride is complete. This way they get to keep 100% of what you give them without any deductions from third-party services or processing fees. Plus you can easily adjust the amount depending on their service and make sure that they receive exactly what you intended for them.

However if you don’t have enough cash on hand then there are other alternatives available too such as leaving a note with a thank-you message along with your payment details so that they can contact you later. Additionally some companies offer online tipping options which allow customers to add an additional fee onto their total fare before checkout; this ensures that drivers still receive tips even if travelers forget about it at the end of their trip!

No matter which option works best for you remember that showing appreciation for someone’s hard work will always go a long way in creating positive experiences for both parties involved.

Alternatives To Cash Tips

When it comes to tipping your shuttle driver cash is always an option. But if you don’t have any on hand then there are some other alternatives that can make sure they still get the gratitude they deserve.

One great way to show appreciation without using money is by leaving a thank-you note with your contact details. This allows them to get in touch with you should they need anything further from you and lets them know that their service was appreciated. You could also consider offering services for future rides – such as discounts or freebies – which serves as a tangible token of thanks.

Finally many companies now offer online payment options where customers can add a tip onto their total fare before checkout; this ensures drivers receive gratuity even if travelers forget about it at the end of their trip! No matter what form you choose taking the time to express your gratitude will go a long way towards creating positive experiences both for yourself and the people who help make those experiences possible.

What If The Shuttle Driver Isn’t Friendly?

Navigating the world of tipping can be a tricky business. We often find ourselves asking questions like ‘How much to tip shuttle driver?’ All too often we are left with more questions than answers regarding how our generosity should look in any given situation. But what if the shuttle driver isn’t friendly?

Determining whether or not you should still offer a gratuity in this circumstance can feel like walking on eggshells. You don’t want to appear ungrateful but at the same time it’s important to recognize when someone has provided subpar service. On one hand offering a tip could help show appreciation for their efforts and serve as an incentive for better behavior moving forward; however there is an argument that withholding your funds may cause them to reassess their approach to providing customer satisfaction. Ultimately it’s up to you as an individual to decide which route would benefit both parties most.

The decision might come down to recognizing that everyone encounters challenging moments in life and sometimes people take out those frustrations on others without meaning to do so. It could also depend on your own feelings about confrontation and setting boundaries. Acknowledging these considerations will allow you make a choice based on personal values instead of feeling forced into something by external expectations. Whether you opt for monetary appreciation or withhold your generosity until improved service is received – either way is valid!

Is It Necessary To Tip A Shuttle Driver For Short Trips?

Tipping a shuttle driver for short trips is an interesting question. It’s not something we think about often but it can be important to recognize good service and show appreciation. After all the driver is there to help us get where we need to go – they’re providing a valuable service! So should you tip them? Let’s take a look.

It really depends on the situation. If you’ve had great service during your trip then absolutely leave a small monetary thank you in recognition of that. Even if the driver isn’t particularly friendly or helpful you could still leave a token amount (or nothing at all) depending on how comfortable you are with the situation.

Ultimately tipping is always optional. You don’t have to feel obligated to do so unless you want to express gratitude for being provided excellent service – though even then it’s up to your discretion as everyone has different financial circumstances. Weighing up these options will ensure that when deciding whether or not to tip you make the best decision possible for yourself and those around you.

How Should I Tip A Shuttle Driver If I’m Paying With A Credit Card?

Tip-giving can be a tricky business. If you’re taking a shuttle how and when should you tip the driver? It’s important to remember that paying with a credit card adds an extra step in the tipping process. But don’t worry – there are still plenty of ways to show your appreciation for the service they’ve provided!

When it comes to giving tips after rideshare services or public transportation most people tend to follow standard tipping protocols — 10%–15% is usually appropriate. However if you’re using a credit card as payment there may be some additional considerations. First of all check whether or not the company allows gratuities on their cards – some companies do not accept them at all. Secondly make sure to carry enough cash just in case they do allow tips but only accept cash payments.

Tipping is always discretionary and depends on the quality of service received; however even small gestures like rounding up the fare or leaving something behind (like candy) can go a long way toward showing gratitude for great service. Ultimately it’s up to you how much you want to give and what form it takes—cash card or kind gesture—but no matter what method you choose make sure your shuttle driver feels appreciated for getting you where you need to go safely and conveniently!

Can I Tip The Shuttle Driver In A Foreign Currency?

Tipping a shuttle driver in a foreign currency may seem like an odd idea but is it really? To understand if this could be possible we need to look at the underlying factors that would allow for such an arrangement.

Firstly we must consider whether or not there are any laws preventing someone from tipping with another country’s currency. In some countries certain currencies are prohibited by law and therefore cannot be used as payment of any kind. For example US citizens travelling abroad can only use their own legal tender when paying for goods and services. This means that unless you’re using your home country’s currency you won’t be able to tip with a different one.

However even if it is legally permissible to tip in a foreign currency will the shuttle driver accept it? It all depends on how knowledgeable they are about exchange rates and international finance. Some drivers might not have access to financial institutions where they can easily convert the money into their local currency – so tipping in cash (or even domestic credit cards) is usually preferred. Therefore regardless of legality or practicality; if the driver feels comfortable accepting foreign currency then you should feel free to do so!

A good way to find out what works best is simply asking each individual driver beforehand – this allows them to decide which form of payment they prefer while still being respectful of their wishes. Ultimately though whatever decision you make regarding tips should come down to common courtesy and respect towards those providing transportation services – after all isn’t that what matters most?

Is There A Minimum Tip Amount That Is Considered Polite?

Tipping etiquette can be tricky to navigate especially when you’re traveling abroad. It’s important to know that there may be different standards for tipping in foreign countries than what is expected back at home. When it comes to shuttle drivers the question of whether or not there is a minimum tip amount considered polite often arises.

In many cases a small gratuity equal to five or ten percent of the fare is sufficient and appreciated by most shuttle drivers. This should be more than enough to show your appreciation for their services. Of course if you had an exceptionally good experience with the driver – perhaps they went above and beyond during your journey – then feel free to increase your tip accordingly.

In general as long as you give something it will likely be viewed favorably by the driver. Don’t worry too much about ‘getting it right’; just remember that any form of recognition shows gratitude for those who help make our travels easier!

Conclusion

It is important to recognize that tipping a shuttle driver for their service is an act of kindness and appreciation. While there are no set rules about how much one should tip it’s always polite to offer something—even if the trip was short or the driver wasn’t particularly friendly. It’s also nice to show your gratitude by offering more than just coins—especially when paying with a credit card. And while you don’t necessarily need to break out foreign currency it never hurts to make sure they know you appreciate them!

At the end of the day whether or not you choose to tip your shuttle driver is entirely up to you. However as someone who has been on both sides of this equation I can confidently say that any amount of gratuity will be greatly appreciated. So go ahead and let loose with those tips my friends; after all we all deserve some recognition for our hard work now and then!

Ultimately what matters most isn’t how much money we give but rather the gesture itself. A simple thank-you goes a long way in recognizing someone’s efforts and showing that we care about others—now that’s something worth tipping for!

For countries worldwide, eating street food is one of the best ways to experience local culture and immerse yourself in another country. Many local vendors have done their best to accommodate the influx of tourists and foreign diners by adopting cleaner cooking practices. However, getting too comfortable when eating abroad is dangerous, and you should always proceed with caution to avoid spending a few days sick and bedridden. Here are some tips for eating street food abroad and avoiding getting sick.

Look for Travel Food Warnings

Before embarking and eating at local eateries, it is always good to know what to look out for. Government websites and other travel blogs are good places to start your search, and food review apps like Yelp are also great resources to see what other travelers have experienced. If you encounter reviews such as “Delhi Belly,” “Turkey Trots,” or “Montezuma’s Revenge,” you might want to be extra cautious about what you eat or avoid this restaurant entirely.

Adjust to Local Cuisine

Ease your stomach into local cuisine by eating your first meals from reputable restaurants. This will give your stomach time to adjust to the new types of food, so your stomach doesn’t experience as severe a “culture shock.”

Follow the Crowds

Make sure you only eat at stalls where many people are already eating. Locals know which stalls serve good food that doesn’t sacrifice quality, and many are willing to travel miles to eat at a particular booth. If the booth you’re interested in is packed with people, you can generally assume the food is delicious and safe. If you’re eyeing an empty stall, trust the locals and stay away.

Note Vendor’s Hygiene Practices

You are observing your surroundings, and being extremely careful about where and what you eat is your best bet at skirting any street food-related health illnesses.
Things to consider:

  1. Does it look fresh?
  2. Trust your nose. If the food smells bad, it probably is.
  3. Has it been refrigerated?
  4. Is it sitting on ice?
  5. Are different meats being kept apart to avoid contamination?
  6. Is cold food kept apart from hot food?
  7. How long do you think it’s been sitting around in the sun?

Note the hygiene standards and habits of the cook, their cooking techniques, and what’s being dished onto the plates.
You will also need to wash your hands with a hand sanitizer and follow proper hygienic practices before eating, or you may get sick!

Watch What You Eat

Avoid stalls with extensive displays of food that have been sitting out. Ideally, you will be able to find a place to quickly see how your food is being prepared and watch it being made in front of you.

When buying meat on sticks, such as sausages or squids, choose pieces either still on the grill or ones that have just been taken off. Look closely at what’s on your fork, chopsticks, or skewers. Always double-check to ensure the meat you’re about to consume is fully cooked, especially if you’re eating chicken. Even if your personal preference is to eat beef rarer, it isn’t worth the risk unless you are confident in the quality of the stand.

You can always play it safe by choosing vegetable dishes over meat dishes. Vegetables are easier to see if they are fresh based on first sight and less likely to spoil. You should also avoid foods made with mayonnaise, and mayonnaise is food items that break quickly. Lastly, if you’re looking for fresh seafood at street stalls, eat at seaside resorts, where you’re guaranteed the fish is freshest.

Water and Ice

Many people are frustrated that food stalls do not carry water or ice without realizing it is for their safety. Water can have many possible diseases and viruses and is one of the easiest ways to get sick and ruin your street food experience. Unless you see the water coming from an unopened bottle or being boiled to make ice, it is better to be safe than sorry and drink without ice.

Bring Your Utensils

It is customary practice in most Asian countries for street vendors to reuse eating utensils such as chopsticks. You may risk contracting a food-borne disease if these are not properly washed. The best way to eat street food safely is to pack a couple of sets of disposable chopsticks or utensils into your bag to have everything you need.

Prepare for Your Allergies

If you suffer from any food allergies, always travel prepared. Learn how to say, “I am allergic to…” in the local language and write it on a couple of notecards so that you can show street vendors if they cannot understand you. This way, you can communicate effectively and be sure that you won’t run into trouble when trying to order.

Ask Yourself, What If I Get Sick?

If you do become ill, your #1 priority is staying hydrated. Foodborne illnesses are extremely taxing on your body, and you must constantly replenish your water reserves. Add Gatorade powder or rehydration salts to your water to maintain sugars and salts.
Seek professional medical advice at a pharmacy or doctor’s office. If you’re unsure where to find a doctor, ask a local where you should go.
If you have a travel partner, ensure you are both washing your hands frequently in case the ailment is contagious.

As smartphones continue to get smarter, travelers are increasingly reliant on them to get from point A to point B. This has caused a recent influx of apps that provide a much-needed solution for typical travel pain. While this seemingly endless supply of apps is revolutionary, there is some that rise above. Below are the top 7 travel apps that help travelers get the most bang for their buck.

Hopper

Hopper: Free
Apple Store: ★★★★½  Google Play: ★★★★

Hopper is a great travel app that analyzes billions of flight prices to help travelers save up to 40% on their next flight. After launching the app and inputting start and end destinations, Hopper opens up a fantastic color-coded calendar view of prices. Above the calendar is a summary of flight costs, including how much a “good deal” should cost and the average price difference between direct flights and flights with stops. Once travel dates are selected, Hopper provides a more detailed price breakdown and, most notably, a price prediction. Below are screenshots of the calendar and travel date views. Hopper suggests waiting for a better price for the dates selected, and notifications can be set up to alert users when that occurs.

It is important to note that tickets purchased through Hopper are non-refundable, so make sure all plans are finalized before booking them. Nevertheless, Hopper is a great travel app for people who like to get a deal on flights, which means everyone!

Gasbuddy

GasBuddy: Free
Apple Store: ★★★★½  Google Play: ★★★★

Gasbuddy is the perfect travel app for the road warrior that prefers traveling on the road. This travel app crowdsources its data and encourages users to report gas prices as they drive or fill up their cars. This helps ensure as up-to-date prices as possible. Gasbuddy recognizes that many drivers love their vehicles and are not entirely willing to sacrifice quality for a good deal. To accommodate this, name-brand gas stations have “top tier” written next to their names.

One downside to GasBuddy is that their data will not be as accurate in less populated areas because there are fewer users to report live prices. However, we can still use older data to find which gas station has, historically, had the cheapest gas in the area. That same station will likely continue to have the cheapest gas. Furthermore, as the app becomes more and more popular, this problem will slowly dwindle. GasBuddy is the perfect travel for road warriors to find the best gas deals in their area and along their route.

Google Maps

Google Map: Free
Apple Store: ★★★★½  Google Play: ★★★★½

Nearly everyone has used Google Maps, and for many, Google Maps has wholly replaced the built-in navigation system in their car. While many other navigation apps are popping up, with Waze in the forefront, Google still reigns supreme (especially since Google owns Waze). Google Maps has integrated the best features of many travel apps and placed them into one convenient interface. Not only does it provide primary navigation, but it also includes traffic, expected traffic, and business hours. And that’s just for personal transport. For those who need a travel app that can help them with public transportation or provide a walking route. Google has those functionalities as well. Public transportation includes bus and train routes along with their cost. At the bottom of the public transit, the view is a link to Uber, which provides the estimated UberX cost in case it is cheaper than public transportation. One last key feature of Google Maps is its integration, allowing travelers to look something up on the computer and have it appear on their mobile phone.

Google Maps is the perfect travel app for travelers who need quick directions. A bonus feature of Google Maps is its limited offline functionality. Google Maps can track a user’s current location even when in airplane mode, which is incredibly helpful when traveling abroad. Before leaving wifi, travelers can drop a pin at the desired destination and then guide their blue dot towards it.

Hotel Tonight

HotelTonight: Free
Apple Store: ★★★★½  Google Play: ★★★★

Nothing is worse than a canceled or delayed flight, and nothing is better than an impromptu weekend trip with friends. Hotel Tonight is the perfect travel app for both. Through exclusive deals with some of the best hotels in any given area, Hotel Tonight can find last-minute discounts on unsold rooms, which means excellent last-minute deals. This app is great for many reasons. One shows a list of hotels in the immediate area offering last-minute room deals. This is perfect for stranded travelers who want a nice, hip hotel without breaking the bank. Two, it provides detailed information about the hotel, including amenities and reviews. Last, it has an “escape” section which shows all the weekend getaway deals for popular destinations in the area. The app is beautiful, easy to use, and at the perfect price, free! There is a referral option so travelers can plan with friends and get $25 off each referral.

Hotel Tonight may not be the travel app for those who like to plan, but it is a life and money saver for the spontaneous traveler or the one caught off guard.

Expensify

Expensify: Free
Apple Store: ★★★★½  Google Play: ★★★★

Expensify is a travel app geared directly toward business travelers who need to track expenses during business trips. Expensify has made the reimbursement process astonishingly simple. With their SmartScan Technology, users take a picture of their receipt, and Expensify will “read” the receipt and create an expense. Expenses can also be logged using the merchant’s name and the total cost. For travelers who need to be reimbursed for gas costs, Expensify has three tracking methods: distance, odometer, and GPS. Distance and odometer have the user input the number of miles traveled which is then multiplied by a mileage rate. GPS tracks where the traveler is driving and provides accurate mileage for reimbursement. There is also an option to create a report for hourly charges. The best part of Expensify is its trip tracker. Email an itinerary to receipts@expensify and Expensify will create automatic expense reports based on that itinerary and keep travelers aware with free flight updates. Lastly, Expensify has an offline mode, meaning international travelers can track expenses even when wifi is unavailable.

Expensify removes a lot of the stress of business travel by making reimbursements easy to track for employees and employers.

PackPoint

PackPoint: Free
Apple Store: ★★★★½  Google Play: ★★★★½

PackPoint is a great travel app for both the organized and disorganized traveler. Packpoint uses three easy steps to make sure travelers are prepared for every situation they will face. Step 1: location, length of trip, and purpose of travel. Step 2: everyday activities. Step 3: pack and check. Packpoint uses the first two steps to create the list of items in step 3. Each item in step 3 can be added to or deleted. Once that item is safely packed away, check it off and move on to the next thing. PackPoint is excellent because it doesn’t just include clothing, and it reminds travelers to pack chargers, toiletries, and medications.

Gone are the days of realizing socks, or even worse, phone chargers, were left at home. PackPoint is the perfect travel app to help travelers stay prepared by creating a packing list that considers business or leisure travel, activities, and weather.

TripAdvisor

TripAdvisor: Free
Apple Store: ★★★★½  Google Play: ★★★★½

All the travel apps listed above can get travelers to their destination on a budget and well prepared, but now what? This is where TripAdvisor steps in. By crowdsourcing reviews of various tourist destinations, TripAdvisor can provide travelers with the best possible list of attractions and restaurants. While TripAdvisor offers hotel and flight searches, both of these were covered by other apps earlier in this article, so we’ll focus on their attraction and restaurant lists. TripAdvisor’s list of attractions in any given location provides travelers with all the information they would need: average rating, the total number of ratings, distance from the current location, smart tags, and, when available, a link to book a tour. Furthermore, clicking on a specific attraction creates a complete list that provides pictures, tour bookings, a short Wikipedia blurb, address, expected Uber prices, and detailed text reviews.

Travelers can get so caught up in the trip planning that they often forget to have fun. TripAdvisor is the travel app that ensures the travel experience is more than just planning. Through user reviews, tour bookings, and helpful integrations, TripAdvisor makes sure travelers can create lasting memories.

The answer is no and yes. It all depends on the airline you’re flying and their specific rules and regulations. Some airlines allow the use of bluetooth headphones during takeoff and landing, while others forbid any headphones at all during these times. And still, other airlines are somewhere in between, allowing the use of bluetooth headphones but requiring that they be turned off or set to “airplane mode” during takeoff and landing. So if you’re wondering whether you can use your bluetooth headphones on a plane, the best answer is to check with your airline before takeoff. And if you’re ever in doubt, err on caution and follow the airline’s instructions. After all, it’s better to be safe than sorry when flying.

American Airlines

If you’re an American Airlines passenger, you can now enjoy the luxury of using your Bluetooth headphones during takeoff and landing. That’s right, no more dealing with those little white headphones that feel like they’re stabbing your brain. You can now use your headphones to listen to music, watch a movie, or drown out the sound of the people around you. Just keep them at a volume that won’t disturb your fellow passengers. Happy travels!

Easyjet

If you’re like me, you’ve probably been wondering if you can use bluetooth headphones on a plane. After all, we live in a world where we can do almost anything with our smartphones, so it stands to reason that we should be able to use bluetooth headphones on a plane. As it turns out, the answer is yes! You can use bluetooth headphones on a plane, but there are a few things that you need to know first. First, you’ll need to ensure that your Bluetooth headphones are compatible with the inflight entertainment system. Most airlines will have a list of compatible devices on their website, so check before you fly. Secondly, you’ll need to ensure that your Bluetooth headphones are fully charged before you board the plane. Once you’re in the air, you’ll likely have limited access to power outlets, so it’s essential to ensure that your headphones are good to go from the start. With those two things in mind, you should have no trouble using your Bluetooth headphones on a plane!

Delta Air Lines

Ever wondered if you can use your bluetooth headphones on a Delta flight? The short answer is yes! Second, be respectful of your fellow passengers and keep the volume reasonable. And finally, enjoy the in-flight entertainment options provided by Delta! With a wide variety of podcasts, music, movies, and TV shows available, you’re sure to find something to enjoy during your flight.

United Airlines

United Airlines is known for being one of the most technologically advanced airlines in the world. So it’s no surprise that they offer passengers the option to use bluetooth headphones during their flight. Whether you’re watching a movie, listening to music, or trying to block out the sound of screaming babies, bluetooth headphones are a great way to stay entertained during your flight. And with United’s impressive inflight entertainment selection, you’re sure to find something to keep you occupied for the entire trip. So next time you’re flying United, pack your bluetooth headphones.

Southwest Airlines

While flying may not be the ideal situation to use your bluetooth headphones, in case you were wondering- the answer is yes, you can use bluetooth headphones on Southwest Airlines. You have to make sure that they’re in airplane mode. So whether you’re trying to catch up on some sleep or want to drown out the screaming baby a few rows ahead, go ahead and throw on those bluetooth headphones and enjoy your Southwest flight.

JetBlue Airlines

While flying can be fun and convenient, it can also be quite noisy. Between the engine noise and the chatter of fellow passengers, it can be tough to get some peace. Thankfully, many airlines now allow passengers to use bluetooth headphones during the flight. This means you can listen to your favorite music or podcast without worrying about disturbing those around you. However, not all airlines have this policy in place. JetBlue is one of the airlines that does not currently allow bluetooth headphones. So, if you’re looking to relax on your flight with some tunes, you’ll need to bring a pair of wired headphones.

Alaska Airlines

Can you use bluetooth headphones on Alaska Airlines? The short answer is yes! You can use bluetooth headphones during all phases of flight, including taxiing, takeoff, and landing. So go ahead and rock out to your favorite tunes at 30,000 feet! Just be sure to keep the volume reasonable to avoid disturbing your fellow passengers. And if you’re looking for a great pair of bluetooth headphones on your next flight, we highly recommend the Bose QuietComfort 35 II. They’re comfortable, offer fantastic sound quality, and even have a built-in noise-canceling feature. So why wait? Head on over to the Alaska Airlines website and book your ticket today!

Spirit Airlines

You might want to think again if you’re planning on using your bluetooth headphones during a Spirit Airlines flight. The airline is known for its cheap fares but has a strict no-electronics policy. That means no laptops, no tablets, and no bluetooth headphones. So if you were hoping to catch up on some reading or get in some last-minute work, you’re out of luck. However, there are a few exceptions to the rule. If you need to use your laptop for takeoff or landing, or if you have a medical device that requires the use of bluetooth, you’ll be allowed to use your electronics. But for everyone else, it’s best to leave your bluetooth headphones at home.
